Abstract

The present research investigates the importance of free will and the struggle of the characters throughout the novel. It also explores the colonial suppression on black nation of Senegal and their role in World War 1 in the novel At Night All Blood is Black by David Diop. The present research follows the theoretical background of humanistic psychology. It takes At Night All Blood is Black by David Diop as a primary source of data. A complete analysis of the text has permitted the researchers to understand some of the findings in the light of Carl Rogers’s theory of personality in the perspective of free will. This novel also shows the racial prejudice and racial discrimination among different nations. The methodology used for this research paper is qualitative in nature. The text is analyzed in the light of humanistic psychology in the perspective of free will.
