A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TEACHINGS RELATED TO SEXUAL ADDICTION IN CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM

Abstract

Sexual addiction is not only a moral disease, but it has become a tragedy of the 21st century. Every day, incidents of sexual abuses are coming to the fore in the media, but the biggest tragedy is that there is no solution to curb this disastrous evil from the society. The negative role of social media cannot be ignored in this regard, has created a turbulent wave of individual freedom that which in progress with time. Unlawful Sexual practice and immorality has become part of routine life.

After its disastrous results and effects on the western society, the Muslim society has also been completely engulfed by it. Due to unrestrained freedom, the weak family system fostered celibate life, celibacy gave birth to mental diseases. As a result, suicide and divorce rates have risen alarmingly.

No strategy seems to be able to stop this moral storm except to revive and practice the moral values of selected religions. This is the only way to save the humanity. Before going toward any solution, there is a question arise that, has there any exemplar/precedence in the raveled religions regarding ethics and moral values or not, and if so, how effective they are?

If someone have a look the Qur'an and Sunnah, He will see that about one-third of the Qur'an   and sunnah consists of moral ethics and a lot of precedence regarding moral values based on physical, moral, and spiritual purity. Likewise, the study of the Holy Bible also proves that the distorted Torah and the Gospel are still related to ethics. There are reasonable teachings related to sexuality that cannot be overlooked…
