Abstract

Plagiarism to utilizing some other individual's thoughts and data without recognizing that particular individual as the source. Similar to all other forms of theft, plagiarism also has many disadvantages associated with it. A Questionnaire put together by review was led with respect to dental undergraduates from different spots. A self designed close ended questionnaire consisting of 11 questions was prepared and were circulated among 150 dental students through an online survey portal out of which one or two students responded. The Data octane was subjected to appropriate statistical tests. Results showed that, within the limitations of the study, most of the people have agreed to the plagiarism rule, and some people have admitted that they plagiarised at least once. Plagiarism is a major issue that threatens our search for truth in science. Hence, students should be encouraged and motivated to adopt value based scientific research and practice of genuine publications.
