International Summits For Determining The Legal Status Of The Caspian Sea: Historical Analysis
Abstract
It is known that in world history up to date, there have been many conflicts and disputes
over the division of borders. It is not a secret that there are countries that for a long time could
not normalize their relations because of their border requirements. From this point of view, the
successful separation of the sea in a historically short period of time, which has never happened,
in particular, the successful separation of the Caspian Sea between neighboring countries, is a
source of pride for any country. Taking into account that the study of any completed historicalpolitical process is the task of historians, the study of the history of summits to divide the
Caspian Sea can be considered one of the tasks that must be overcome by domestic historical
science.
The main purpose and issue of the scientific article is to reveal the course and results of
the summits at the level of heads of state, which began with the Ashgabat summit in 2002 and
ended with the Aktau summit in 2018, as well as the role of each of them in determining the
status of the sea. The results of the analysis carried out as a result of the methods used in the
research in the field of history were included in the list of special nodes. The value of the article
is that the author was the first in the country to reveal this issue historically. The results of our
scientific work can be optimally used in the training of specialists in history, political science,
international relations, and the study of the history of external relations of domestic historical
science.
