KINEMATIC ANALYSIS OF ELBOW JOINT DURING TAP AND SWING POSITION BETWEEN BEGINNER AND PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL
Abstract
Kinematic in sport incorporates a detailed analysis of sport movements in order to minimize the risk of injury and improve sports performance in present study total sample was comprised of 44 subjects only. The present area of the study incorporates the detailed analysis of the fundamental movements of baseball with the aim to improve performance. The Researcher made and attempt to assess the kinematic analysis of shoulder and elbow joint during tap and swing position between beginner and professional baseball players. Forty-four(44) male elite and non elite baseball players between the age group of 18-25 were selected through purposive random sampling technique conducted from different university teams of Punjabi University Patiala, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar and Lovely Professional University Punjab Phagawara. Kenova software and camera of cannon were used to analyze the movement of shoulder and elbow joint during tap and swing position between beginner and baseball players. The comparison of kinematic angle at elbow joint during swing position between professional and beginner baseball player. The mean score of the Professional and Beginner baseball player are 55.1333333 and 59.6333333 respectively and standard deviation was 2.565584187 and 4.764335094 respectively. The value of‘t’ is -4.47835 which shows positive comparison and significant difference between Professional and Beginner in baseball player. Comparison on tap position and swing position during stance, execution phase because the value shown in both case 1.860 which less than 0.05 which indicate shoulder joint angle ,elbow angle play a very important role during tap position, I same case other joint shown less significant because Comparison value is less greater than0.05.The result of present investigation revealed that there is significant difference between professional and beginner baseball players during tap and swing position at shoulder joint. Significant difference also observed between professional and beginner baseball players during tap and swing position at elbow joint.
