THE CHARACTERISTICS OF PROSPECTIVE TEACHER IN MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION ABILITY
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of the mathematical communication skills of
prospective teacher candidates at STKIP Al Hikmah Surabaya, Indonesia. This type of research is a
descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 9 student teacher candidates
for the 7th semester with the consideration that they had carried out practical program activities in the
field. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of mathematical communication can be
seen from three aspects, namely accuracy, completeness, and fluency. All subjects have fulfilled these
three characteristics properly and clearly
