IMPACT OF SELF-ACTUALIZATION ON ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT, JOB INVOLVEMENT AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG ACADEMIC LEADERS USING STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELING
Abstract
Background:The term ‘Resources’ got a paradigm shift in recent decades. Human and their attitude are considered as the source of success for an enterprise, instead of materialistic things. The researchers are much focused about the Psychological concepts like, satisfaction, involvement, commitment and climate. Slowly this focus is started moving form industry to academic sector. Now the academic institutions are also started thinking about the psychological state of their academicians. This paper is such an attempt, to study the impact of self-actualization on the organizational commitment, job involvement and job satisfaction among academic leaders in Government Universities of Tamil Nadu.
Objective: To study the influence of self-actualization of academic leaders on their organizational commitment, job involvement and job satisfaction in Government Universities of Tamil Nadu using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) perspective.
Methodology:The study was exploratory in nature, for the above objective 419 samples were, with the support of stratified purposive random sampling technique.
Findings: The research results revealed academic leader’s self-actualization is significantly and positively related to job involvement, organizational commitment and job satisfaction.
Conclusion:As the role of self-actualization is found as influential on the job satisfaction and in improving the organizational commitment, job involvement of the academic leaders, it should be given serious attention and steps has to be taken to improve the self- actualization of academic leaders.
