In this situation student needs a social support to overcome this type of stress. Social support includes all the mental, social and emotional support offered by the family, teacher, media, friends, neighbors so as they can cope up and stay relaxed. This paper is an attempt to establish a statistical association among role of social support and academic stress for school students of senior classes. Stress for school, stress for friends/peer, stress for teacher, stress for self-concept, stress for exam/test, stress for subject, stress for performance, stress for parents which constitute overall academic stress on the tool. A survey of randomly selected 600 students of schools was carried out in the Rajasthan state of India studying in XI class. Surveys through a reliable and valid first tool Academic Stress Scale and second tool Social support scale were done. Students’ responses on both the scales were qualitatively analysed by applying Pearson Correlation coefficient. Major findings in terms of their observations were included that there is a noteworthy relationship between role of social support and over all academic stress.
