THE SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF THE CORONA VIRUS AND ITS TREATMENT METHODS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to show the social and psychological effects of the coronavirus and the Islam method in dealing with it. It was an academic research study that looked at how to define this pandemic and its universal psychosocial impact by causing mass hysteria. In addition, it explains the role of Islam and Islamic legislations in treatment this pandemic according to Islamic doctrine, hadith and legislation. The study stated the definition of the pandemic, how its transmission, its common symptoms and what to do if you have these symptoms and its social and psychological effects on individual and society. Then the study discusses the Islamic methods of treatment the effects of Coronavirus. That includes many topics full into three different Islamic sciences including Islamic doctrine, hadith and Islamic Law to treat this upcoming pandemic. The major conclusion to this study is how to deal with the pandemic and its symptoms. In addition, the social and psychological effects of Coronavirus explained in details. The impact of Prophet’s Sunnah has taken through several preventive and therapeutic measures for the pandemic. The research ends up with the necessity of believing in Allah since Allah creates both disease and medicine.  In the case of purifying the body of dead Muslim, the scholars legislated to pour water on the deceased from behind the clothes or doing Tayammum instead of touching him if there is a fear of transmitting the disease. However, in this study, there was no speech about the Muslims daily life within pandemic time and the different legislations that set by the Islamic law for this time since the research is short.
