Abstract

The usage of radio spectrum based communication for the current society is in exponential
raise and it is being exhausted day to day. The cognitive radio optimizes the usage of licensed
radio spectrum pre-allocated by the government and public agencies. The cognitive radio
network has two major processes: the spectrum hole detection and the spectrum allocation.
This article presents a dynamic approach for spectrum detection in time division multiplexing
based wireless cognitive communication systems. The method can be used for the systems with
fixed as well as the varying number of primary users. The proposed method is simulated and
analyzed the performance.
