STUDY ON PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATION INTHE BUILDING OF NEW RURAL AREASIN THE MEKONG RIVER DELTA OF VIETNAM

Abstract

Thebuilding of new rural areas is Vietnam’s esepcially important policy, which is directly associated tothe rights, benefits and lives of mostresidents in rural areas.  Therefore, implementing such a policyshould focus on the participation of the local people in order to promote their roles. Based on the theory and practical survey of previous researches, this article introduces the reality of the participation of rural residents in the process of building new rural areas, at the same time, recommends solutions to the enhancement of participation of local inhabitants in the process of consctructing new rural areas in Mekong river delta of Vietnam
