ROLE OF MENTAL HEALTH IN SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTSWITH RESPECT TO SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL FACTORS: DISSCUSSION
Abstract
Mental health is defined as the adjustment of human being to the world and to reach each other with a maximum of effectiveness and happiness. It is the ability to maintain an even temper, an alert intelligence, socially considerable behavior and a happy life.
Individuals are born with various urge, needs, emotions, motives and drives, attitudes and interest etc. Some of them are inborn and some of them are acquired. When these urges or motives are allowed to function harmoniously in coordination with each other and getting full expression or satisfaction, we have a personality which we may call it as wholesome personality which is essential for health mental life.In one way or the other, every individual is inevitably involved in conflict and placed under strain, the person whose mental health is good is better able to withstand such strains than one who suffers from mental illness.
A mentally healthy person may be characterized by a well-adjusted personality it means, he is not unduly distressed by the conflicts that he faces, he attacks his problem in realistic manner, accepts the inevitable understands and accepts his own shortcomings and shortcoming of those with whom he must deal. While mentally healthy individual has adequate self-acceptance, hold a realistic view of him enjoys freedom from inner conflicts and anxiety and possesses adequate adjustment within himself in terms of his deeds and thoughts to the best of his ability and suitably reacts with his environment in an intelligent way. Here authors try to bring how mental health influences their social and educational variables.
