COMPARATIVE STUDY OF IOT PROTOCOLS
Abstract
The research paper focuses on showing the study for comparative analysis for different IoT protocols, basically if we summarise the purpose of bringing the concept of IoT is to establish a smart system by providing a kind of interconnectivity between different devices. The IoT protocols helps in setting up a interoperability among other wise not inter operable devices, so using that communication the smart prediction can be achieved which will make human life much more comfortable and easier than traditional one. The setup of the smart devices using existing and proposed protocol is not just limited to corporate sectors and industries but can easily be implement in our day to day life with least to moderate cost of installation. When we talk about communication among smart devices, actually it is an interaction between physical and digital worlds using sensor and actuators. It is an advanced Automated & analytics system which exploits networking, sensing, and big data, AI to deliver complete system for product or services. This system allows greater transparency and performance when applied to any industries and system. Actually we are extending the power of internet beyond computers and Smartphone’s. IOT object to be sensed or control remotely inside existing networking infrastructures. Now a day’s IOT plays a vital role for creating embedded software’s. It can be implemented for developing smart cities, home Automated system and many other projects .Many industries have been adopted IOT enabled software for better productivity without human interaction. Sensors, Actuators, processor, gateways are the main components of IOT. Sensor sensed the data from the environment and transfers it to the processor. Earlier having the internet connection and proper connection was a challenge, as the data rate was not enough and not everyone was connected to internet but now days that challenge has demolished by the digitalization and affordable services provided by telecommunication companies and everyone have smart phone these days in which they have sensors and other monitoring features that make it easy to operate other smart device as well hence the setup of intelligent environment around us like smart houses, helping assistance, smart locks and many more. The set of rules which is known as protocols behind the concept of IoT basically provide the intercommunication among installed devices for understanding physical environment around user and prepare the monitoring logs for user as per requirement of user i.e. health monitoring, humidity level, temperature, pressure on surface, smog, gases and many other situation where particular parameter need to monitor and set up alarm on critical situation. The protocol set as per the requirements of software appliances and architecture of device and the network configuration by which actual traversal of communication will happen according to the relevancy.IOT protocols are very important for establishing communication among the smart devices in a smart city. Sensors are used to collect environmental information and Actuators are used to generate the desire outputs. Actually Actuators are doing the opposite work to Sensors. Many protocols are available for connecting smart devices. Z-wave protocol can be used for home Automated and Zigbee protocol can be used for industry Automated .MQTT and CoAP are the best protocols for communication. CoAP is applicable for low power devices and it is light weight protocol.
