Abstract

A Passage to India' is a famous novel written by Edgar Morgan Forster and published in 1924. It is a document that explored the Britishers' ways of treating the innocent people of India. The Britishers were the 'Colonizers' while Indians were the 'Colonized.' They did not consider the Indians as the natives but their slaves and behave accordingly. The present study highlights the Britishers 'colonial attitude towards India's people who ruled over there for approximately two hundred years. The textual analysis method has been adopted for this study, and it is qualitative. The analysis is made by evaluating the theme, characters, literal and implied meanings, events, and the context. The findings show that Britishers cannot help without demonstrating the 'colonial attitude 'in every story. The very terms can be found almost in every chapter of the novel. The 'colonial attitude' has been found not only in men but also in their females.
