Abstract

The general objective of this research was to know the level of written argumentation in the virtual forum of undergraduate students of a University of Chimbote, 2020. The type of research was basic descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional design. It was applied to a sample of 270 students from the first cycle of studies of a certain professional career, the technique used was the survey and as an instrument a questionnaire of batteries of closed questions, proposed for validity by experts and reliability through the measurement statistics: Cronbach's alpha; whose final valuation is 0.70 which shows that the instrument is highly reliable. The results achieved indicate that, of the 270 undergraduate students, 79% are within the high level and according to the dimensions of the argumentation: planning 73%, textualization 75%, revision-correction 84% and editing 62%. Finally, based on the result of this research, an intervention plan is proposed to strengthen the written argument in the virtual forum, in the context of social isolation.
