Abstract

Through the direct field experience of the researcher in the field of teaching at the Institute of Fine Arts for Girls, I found that the students lack sufficient mental skills that enable them to memorize and remember information quickly and easily, and this has been shown in their performance in the applications of criticism and artistic appreciation. Whereas the ability to memorize and remember are active mental processes, and the ability to assimilate information and make it meaningful, then retrieve it well later on, these are products of the learning process and training in memorizing and remembering successfully. Also, increasing students' ability to store and retrieve information when needed can develop their feelings by increasing their mental capabilities, because the process of remembering indicates one of the aspects of their intelligence. Therefore, the researcher proposed to present the scientific material for the history of Islamic art, according to one of the means to aid in remembering, namely (the mechanisms of assisting remembering), because it is one of the tools that can facilitate the processes of Memorization, recollection and retrieval, and which determine the methods by which the learner deals with information and experiences and move him from the usual method to the use of methods that stimulate his desire to learn and help him remember information and skills according to the requirements of the educational situation.
