This paper is an attempt to uncover the dangling relationship between various binaries and power structures with an aim to uncover the operations of journalism as presented in the selected short story. It aims to analyze critically the covert and overt message of the story which seems to be didactic. The intended meanings of the selected short story are explored and the paper sheds light on the Fairclough’s model of CDA.
