Splinting is a type of mechanical stabilization of mobile teeth with its immobile neighbour teeth by which tooth support can be established to withstand forces and thereby prolonging life of retained teeth. The present study aims to study the type of splinting, pattern of splinting, tooth type in which splinting was done. A total of 96 patients who had undergone splinting of teeth were included in the study. Age, gender, tooth type and pattern of splinting were recorded and statistically analysed. The results showed that 61.5 % were male patients who had undergone splinting. The most prevalent age group in which splinting was done was 31- 40 years (33.4%). The most frequently splinted teeth were the lower anterior teeth (54.2%). Splinting was done mostly on the labial surface (72.9%). Based on our present study, it is observed that splinting is done effectively as an integral part of periodontal therapy to retain the natural teeth.
